If you had to choose one car created in the United States to represent the entire classic American car culture, you'd be hard-pressed to pick anything other than Chevrolet's Corvette. It wouldn't be suprising, as this sports car has been in production for over fifty years, and it seems every year it produces an instant classic.

Sure, there are other makes and models that have contributed to the grand history of American automobiles, such as the Mustang, the Roadrunner, the GTO, and so forth, but you must admit that whenever you have to select just one car, the Corvette always seems to be the first that pops into people's minds. How many children's walls have been adorned with posters of a classic Corvette Stingray, a 1990 ZR-1, or a 1975 Corvette Stingray?

You could spend hours talking about Corvette Stingray history, but for me, it was always spectacular to see one or two candy-apple red Corvette convertibles driving up and down the main road at my local beach, and when they drove off, there was always some bikini-clad honey sittings in the passenger seats, whether they had showed up in those Corvettes or not!
