Extreme Sports Cars Are More Than Just Posters

Like any other kid in my neighbourhood, I loved cars. I of course had my collection of Mattel Hot Wheels car, including the car tire carrying case, I watched racing on the weekends with my dad, and I read through the very cool sports car magazines at the corner store after school.

When I was young, I couldn't wait to grow old enough to be able to drive a Lamborghini 308, a Lotus Esprit, or a Corvette Stingray. I collected photos out of the newspaper of old race cars, sports cars, and of course Bond cars (from the 007 movies).

Now that I'm older my tastes have changed somewhat, but I still have an appreciation for this type of extreme sports car, the sports cars that seemed to rise above the rest. Now I still love the cars that James Bond always seems to get his hands on (and of course a special appreciation of all the explosive gadgets that came pre-installed), but my tastes have refined somewhat, and I like to admire many of these new super sports cars, as well as the old classics.

Technology and design certainly have a part in my new-found respect for sports cars such as the BMW M3, the Lotec C1000, the Bugatti EB110, the Jaguar XJ220, and the Koenigsegg CCR, a sweet Swedish car that has jaw-dropping abilities.

I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to own a Jaguar, a Porsche, or a Lotus, and my mother gave any my Hot Wheels when I became a teenager, but I can still find some pretty incredible posters to fill the walls of my children's bedroom.
