From Car Buyer to Car-Buy-Her: A Woman's Journey to Automotive Empowerment
In 2003, I was your average car buyer ------ just a woman looking for a car. Two years later, I became a Car-Buy-Her ----informed and in control. It’s hard to believe the transition. I literally went from an inexperienced automotive car buyer, who for the first time in her life, was in the position of buying a car alone ----no spouse, no parental guidance, no tangible safe guards and buffers ------to an enlightened and liberated Car-Buy-Her.

I must say, I like the difference. My journey is a relatively simple one. It all started when my 10-year-old Mazda decided it had had enough. So much so, that it was totally unwilling to make the trip from the South side of town to the North side when it took an unforeseeable last breathe and died leaving me stranded on the road. Instantly I was catapulted into a car buying nightmare, a nightmare that included an unexpected financial expense and an energy-zapping time commitment that I was just not ready for. It took weeks to adjust and figure out what I wanted and needed . . . then I spent weeks filtering through information.

I started online, a carefully crafted safety net ----behind closed doors, in the comforts of my home where I didn’t have to admit I had no clue. Anxiety levels began rising after a few weeks into the process â€"there was too much to know, too many sites, car lingo to decipher, and no place of comfort. And then there was a light bulb. What if?! What if I knew where to go and what to do? What if I had all the information I needed? What if that information was tailored to my needs as a woman? What if there was a place that educated me on car buying and maintenance? What if I had more of a plan? What if there was an online resource where I could go on my own time, to learn, to educate myself, become more enlightened and empowered?

Fast forward several years ---- now there is a place, and it’s just for you ---- the female auto consumer and it's called Car-Buy-Her, an online automotive resource for women to get the information they need to be educated, enlightened, and empowered as consumers.

A car buyer is just an individual looking for a car, but a Car-Buy-Her is much more. She’s a woman who has decided to take control of her car life. She’s a woman who is informed, in control and ready to buy! And you too, can become one.

4 Steps to Becoming a Car-Buy-Her
1. Gather all the information you can on car buying and maintenance. Start by visiting car-buy-her.com.
2. Learn how to do your research. Talk to friends, colleagues, and family. Do online research on cars you have an interest in. Compile your information in a place that is organized where you can make some comparisons and reference when you need to.
3. Take control and be okay with buying your own car. You will drive it and most likely be the one to keep it up, so you might as well be the one that controls the buying aspect as well.
4. Know when you’re ready to buy. Wait until you have all the information you need to make an intelligent, informed decision. Too many women have regrets after they’ve made their purchase. Don’t let that be you. Have the patience to invest the time and do the work, so when you’re ready to buy, you’re ready to buy
